Watch Heath Ledger’s utterly brilliant “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” performance from ’10 Things I Hate About You’

Oh, Heath Ledger. If there was any actor who tragically left this world too soon, it’ll have to be him. As we count down the days to The Dark Knight Rises, if there’s one thing agreed that’s echoing around the blogosphere for sure is that no villain of Chris Nolan’s Batman franchise will ever surpass that of the dementedly mad Joker of The Dark Knight. He turned what could’ve easily become a one-note character into a deeply layered, viciously brilliant performance of the ages, for which he deservedly won a post-humous Best Supporting Oscar. But…why so serious? Ledger broke out alongside Julia Stiles (and Joseph Gordon Levitt!) in 1999 with a certain little teen movie called 10 Things I Hate About You, and he contributed to one of the best scenes in the movie – which you can watch below. One of the best scenes of all time in any movie, actually. Performing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” Ledger conveyed everything that we love about him in one single sing-and-dance routine on the steps of Padua Stadium High School.
