Remembering Sir Laurence Olivier

Posted by Max Lalanne on July 11, 2012

I’ll let this 10-minute video speak for itself – Kenneth Tynan’s 1966 interview, part of the “Great Acting” series, with Sir Laurence Olivier, that brilliant British conqueror of Shakespeare and acting in general on both stage and screen. (He was recently portrayed by Kenneth Branagh in last year’s “My Week With Marilyn,” but that wasn’t a particurlarly excellent movie.) Olivier passed away on this day in 1989 at the age of 82, so here’s this interview to remember him today. The scene from the beginning is from 1948’s “Hamlet,” if I’m not mistaken.
